Education
For someone who is just learning about powerkites and all the possibilities, the information can be a little overwhelming. Hours and hours could be spent just trying to get a handle on how kites work. Doing actual research on which kite is best is just about impossible. Everyone has their favorite and they will tell you that their favorite is best. Our goal here is to give unbiased information. We are not sponsered by anyone. We tell you right from the front that we sell HQ and Ozone kites (just look at the top of every one of our pages). There are plenty of other companies out there and there are plenty of other kites. Personally, I fly a HQ Rush III Pro 350 for a trainer. I’ve tried others and I like them, but I prefer the Rush. What brand you pick will depend on many things and I’m not going to try to sway you towards any particular manufacturer (except that I may throw in a plug here and there). The more difficult question is what size should you pick. That is where I hope this site can help you.
While this site is paid for by trainer kite sales, the main mission of the site is to provide a place where the hard questions can be answered. This section of the site is divided into pages that answer the questions that I get asked the most. By far, the last page should be the most helpful to the person looking to buy their first kite. If you do have any other questions, feel free to email me at mike@thekiteline.com.
Let’s start with Safety.
